LURE CHASING RULES
1. No HUMAN aggressive dogs allowed. Any dogs displaying aggressiveness towards people will be asked to leave (with no refund).
2. Dog aggressive dogs are allowed, but you must keep them on a leash and under control when they aren't chasing the lure. Please wait in the holding area, outside the field fence, or your vehicle, to stay separated from others until your turn. After your turn, please remain outside the main field to avoid contact with waiting dogs.
3. All dogs must be kept under control. Remember - not every dog likes other dogs getting nose to nose or sniffing private areas. Please do not allow your dog to go nose-to-nose with another dog unless you have their owner's permission.
4. All dogs must be ON LEASH at all times except when running the lure. Our courses may be near busy roads, and we don't want any accidents. As soon as your dog's chase has ended, please immediately leash your dog. It may wander the course again making it hard to catch and re-leash if not done immediately. Dogs excited by the lure, and other dogs running, often ignore human commands. Your dog is probably not as well trained as you think it is. Please show respect to others by leashing your dog. We don't want to spend 15 minutes chasing down your dog.
5. Please walk your dog prior to running the course so its muscles have a chance to properly loosen. You wouldn’t play a sport without stretching, so why should your dog?
6. Please walk your dog following their run in order to effectively cool down.
7. Dogs will not be allowed to run additional runs less than 15 minutes following a previous run to help avoid injuries.
8. A signed waiver must be presented before your dog can run. Waivers are available at the field and on our website. Click here
9. We will provide water for drinking and cooling your dogs (bowls or a pool). Please bring your own for the ride home or when our source isn’t available for your dog.
10. Please clean up after your dog. It is your responsibility to bring poop bags. Do not let them urinate on our equipment.
11. If you bring children, please keep an eye on them. Do not let them wander around. Our course isn’t a playground. Dogs may be excited by the moving lure and ready to chase after anything that moves quickly. A fast running 100 pound dog can easily someone should a collision occur.
12. Properly care for your dog. This includes water, warm-up and cooling-down.
13. Run Dog Run is a non-competitive environment. Everyone present shall conduct themselves in a professional, considerate, and sportsmanlike manner.
14. You may run your dog more than once per day. You may run your dogs as many times as it remains safe and within the physical fitness level and ability of your dog. Allow plenty of recovery time between runs. Use good judgment and remember - you can come back another day! First time dogs will only be allowed to run one time. We would like you to monitor how it recovers from the exercise. Some dogs may become sore from this new exercise, as they are not use to this particular activity. It's better to be safe since they can't tell us how much is too much. Consult your veterinarian for any restrictions or guidelines specific to your dog.
15. Do not run dogs while on medications, sick, injured, or recovering from surgery.
16. Do not feed your dog before, during or immediately after running. BLOAT CAN BE FATAL!
17. No female dogs in heat.
18. The Lure Operator will use careful judgment, and will not allow a dog to run if they deem any situation to be unsafe.
Run Dog Run reserves the right to stop or limit any dog’s participation due to age, body condition, lameness, limitations, temperament, weather conditions, or any other factor that could affect the safety of the dog, other participating dogs, or spectators.
